Members of HC DrugFree's Teen Advisory Council volunteered to help on April 26, 2014 at the semi-annual national Take Back Day. Howard County collected a record 1,030 pounds of medication. Teen Advisory Council Member Juliana Kaiser Recruits for TAC at Cummings Event
December 6, 2014 - HC DrugFree partnered with Wilde Lake High School to bring Congressman Elijah Cummings to speak to the students and faculty at the school. Teen Advisory Council and Wilde Lake High student Juliana Kaiser spoke to the crowd in the Jim Rouse Theater telling them her very personal reason for joining TAC. "Eight years ago, a family friend who was 17 at the time, died in an alcohol-related accident. I know the loss I feel, and I also know the pain and suffering his family endured." She went on to say that her goal is to educate her peers and to hopefully prevent someone else from experiencing a similar tragedy. TAC is open to any high school student in Howard County and welcomes new members throughout the year. TAC meetings are held once a month at The Barn in Oakland Mills Village Center.
